How to spend all of your monies in 3 days

First off my T button still is acting funny, so sorry if I dont catch all of the silly typos. its amazing how many times you use a T. This week has been an expensive one for me. I thought I was good and bought a beautiful pair of boots to get around town in. I love them and will wear the shit out of them like I do my brown ones, but if I had known what was to come I would have waited.  My Union randomly decided I needed to pay them $266 in a week or they would cancel my membership and so fire me from selling shoes from my corporate department store. I was up on my dues, so Im not sure why the squeeze... but its paid. Then I paid the water bill, and there apparently was a typo and I over paid by like $50 it turns out... which will be good for later but GEEZE... Now I get to get the car worked on and pay the ticket i go for expired tags.... lol... plus the phone bill was almost $100 more then usual (have to ask them about THAT)

All in all Im broke... good thing I have Christmas figured out for the most part!!

But this is a great excuse to use my delightful dried goods that I got for my birthday so long ago. I also have part of a turkey which will become soup and enchilada's this week, then im really excited about making this wonderful looking recipe from Crockpot 365. Here if you dont feel like clicking the link.

2 cups lentils, rinsed
1/2 cup diced celery
1/2 cup diced carrot
1 onion, peeled and diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 (28-ounce) can diced tomatoes (with juice!)
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
2 teaspoons paprika
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups hearty torn greens, like kale or chard (if you'd prefer spinach, stir in before serving)
4 cups vegetable or chicken broth (optional: add another 1 to 2 cups of broth if you'd like before serving)

The Directions.

Use a 6-quart slow cooker. Put the rinsed lentils into the bottom of an empty insert. Add the diced celery, carrot, onion, and garlic (if you have a food processor, it might be helpful to use). Add the entire can of diced tomatoes, and add the seasonings and torn greens. Stir in the broth (I used chicken, but any broth will work just fine).
Cover, and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours, or until the lentils are soft. If you'd like to stretch this to feed more, or for a thinner soup, feel free to add more broth.

Serve with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired, and a hunk of garlic bread.

This will be perfect as I have everything already except canned tomatoes, which are CHEAP!! I have been growing Dinosaur Kale, which is the best of the kales in my opinion. They have the most texture, perfect for soups.

Sorry so whinney, feeling the pressure and instead of freaking out about classes as I prolly should be, this is what Im obsessing over. Geeze Im weird.

If your looking for something interesting to listen to, check out the Studio 360 podcats, which are free, weekley and AMAZING. As Im typing this I am listening to a special on I Love Lucy, and Curt Andersen is talking to people who worked on he show, playing clips, talking to feminists about their veiws- positive and negative- about it, just so good!!! Most people know Im SO IN LOVE WITH PODCASTS!! Their free-ness, the stories, the time filling :3

Day of Break

Yay!! Two updates in one week!! OMG! Sorry for the maudlin post yesterday, feeling off. Got pleeeeeennnntttyyy of sleep and feeling good. Tomorrow I start working for corporate clothing store.. its been many years since i have, maybe I'll enjoy it more. And at least its a job. And I get a decent discount.

Kitler scared me last night. After posting I headed to the 2011 and put Advantage 2 on the cats. They both ran around like idiots and wrestled (by wrestling Kitler attacked Pickles). Next thing I know kitten is running around drooling and frothing. I think, oh crap, he's having a reaction and I dont even know where the vet clinic is..... So I run and get the directions (which i was gunna chuck but didn't because of Aunt Sue, thankies!) and turns out if they lick it they will drool uncontrolably. Like when they attack their gay lover and chew on his neck.
No drool but guilty

Kitten then proceeded to do it 4 MORE TIMES. Drool all night. on my pillow. ick.

School starts again in a few weeks! Hazzah! Color and Design I will beat you... This is supposed to be one of the harder classes available/required at the school. but with Dave the Color Nazi for Color Theory I should be able to do it. Right?

Anywho, Spent like 3 hours at Corporate coffee shop with out buying a thing! yay!! :D Lol Im terrible. Soon I'll head home, eat some food and draw some things. I gatta keep drawing. I keep threatening Gentleman Friend Im gunna use him for figure drawing ;) Maybe I should follow through with my threat. ooowww and I have games to play I have been ignoring for 4 months... Im not a nerd... o.o I swear.

Stay tuned for more actual updates and adventures. There are more to be had for sure! Plus Im due for another major disaster ;)

Pizza Soup

So, still eating like a poor girl :) To mix it up with my yummo 16 Bean soup, Im also making Pizza Soup. I had some Breakfast Sausage in the fridge from when it was on sale for 99 cents a lbs (woot!) And yesterday when I went to pick up my check from Vinny at the Pizza Shop, I picked up the other ingredients. The Recipe is from 365Crockpot :)

--1 jar (14 oz) of pizza sauce
--3 empty jars full of water
--1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
--1/2 red onion, chopped
--1 cup sliced mushrooms
--1 cup baby tomatoes, cut in quarters (or 1 can diced tomatoes, drained)
--2 already-cooked Italian sausage (I used chicken Italian sausage)
--1 cup sliced pepperoni, sliced in quarters (Hormel turkey pepperoni is labeled gluten free)
--8 fresh basil leaves, chopped (or 1/2 T dried)
--1 T dried oregano
--1/2 to 1/3 cup of dried pasta (if your pasta is tiny, use 1/3 cup. if it's big, do 1/2. I used 1/2 cup Trader Joe's brown rice penne)
--shredded mozzarella cheese (to add later)

The Directions.

Use a 5 or 6 quart crockpot for this recipe. Serves 4 hungry adults, or 2 hungry adults and 2 kids with enough leftovers to feed them all again.

Wash and prepare veggies. Dump them into the crockpot. Cut up the sausage into small pieces--I sliced, then cut the pieces in fourths. Add to crockpot. Cut up the pepperoni, add it, too. Add basil and oregano. Pour in the pizza sauce, and follow with three empty jars of water.

Cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours. Everything in this is already cooked, so you are really only heating through and allowing the flavors to meld.

Thirty minutes before serving, add the dry pasta, and turn to high. My pasta only took 20 minutes to soften quite nicely.

Garnish/top with shredded mozzarella cheese

This soup came out amazing!! I was eh the first day, but the second day and on the flavors were deep and delicios!! And I ate off it for a week!
