Beer, Yosemite, San Diego, and an Art Show

Im terrible at keeping this up anymore... Sorry anyone who still reads! Since graduation I have had plenty of time but have been doing other things then blogging, someof which are:

Brewing beer- Steve and I have been brewing up a storm of beers such as Strawberry Hefe multiple times, a maple porter, Kentucky Common, a Barley Wine, and many more. so much awesome beer, and were doing the Strawberry hefe tonight :3

NHC- the National Homebrewers conference was FAN-FRICKING-Tastic!! San Diego was beautiful and perfect, we drank, shared the said Strawberry hefe, won tshirts and mugs and came home with so much swag. We got to see the White Labs brewery and taste just about everything. Then that handsome man of mine took me to the San Diego ZOO!! I saw Pandas!!! I also got a great collection of stuffies because Im a GROWN ASS WOMEN.

Family- Steves Family came to visit which was mom, grandma, and the niece and nephew. it was really fun and i got to do a bunch of awesome touristy things. Be a tourist in your town, do something you think might think is stupid and just do it with joy. Then Alicia came to visit and we hung out, did some shopping then headed to Yosemite for the Day!! So much fun, and absolutely stunning. The next night we had a Stuffy-Brave Little Toaster Party. It was great

My Art Show! My work is up at Elevation 66 until the end of October! Ya!! I spent like $50 on printing and another $70 on frames for 12 peices and consider that cheap... but Im so honored and excited and put a few new pieces in.

And My RedBubble store is up!

I've been freaking out a bit lately, well, a lot. I'm afraid. Now I just have to grow up right?

Today was the homebrew club picnic and I took mom to the airport then got caught in the worlds worst traffic.. Uuugghhh... But my handsome man was waiting with mountains of food and beer :3 I'm a lucky girl!!

Summer Time

Im in my last week or so of summer vacation. I had such big hopes for this summer... Working on my comic book, doing a ton of art, saving money and working more, growing a ton of food, playing pokemon.... and I got quite a bit done, but no where near what I had hoped. I HAVE watched a lot of Rockford Files... (I have a crush on young James Garner now, good lord he is such a MAN) And I am growing my container gardens, which are going awesomely. The baking potatoes seem to have been eaten by some creature, but the red potato and the sweet potato are going crazy! The tomatoes are finally producing, the joys of cool climate area I havnt had toms till now, but the Dr. Carolynn Cherry tomato may be one of the sweetest cherrys I've ever had. and their bright yellow color is so fun in salads and for snacks. Now I sound like some ad.. The beets are growing good, I may have crowded them to much but meh they will survive. The Basket of Fire chili has been pouring out hot chilis about as fast as I can pick them. I cook with some, and most I have been dehydrating with my Handsome Gentleman Friends dehydrator.

He's been spoiling me crazy. good food, and we have been brewing up some wonderful treasures. We have a bock that is amazing and i wish i didnt have to work later tonight so i could drink it now. Our California Common is as good as Anchor's, there are two batches of Pale Ale and a Choconut Stout that should be ready in a few weeks!

Last week I helped out at the brewery a bunch.I really like working over there. Some day..

In the mean time hope you all are enjoying school and had a wonderful summer!!

Birthday Joy and San Mateo County Fair!

So Alaska pictures are still being processed...ya Im slow. This week has been insane..I though summer was supposed to slow down, be easy and fun...So before all the joy, heres some angry rant.

Upon my return i learned my horrible job and my horrible union were locked in a pissing match of Jean Claude proportions. so first we were gunna have a vote on strike, which ment the managers ran around like idiots harrassing everyone. We got letters from the GM of both buildings saying he would fire us, and essentially kill our families and piss on our ashes (in a corporate way). then my manager made sure to max out my time off pay while i was gone so now i have none... even though i planned it so i would save some. This also ment my next paycheck was... $71. uuugghhh.... Anywho then another creepy ass manager from a lower floor took pictures of my with his phone in the LOCKER ROOM. There were like 30 people there but now their all saying they didnt see it even though we all did. I decided I was going to over react and fight this as sexual harrasment... but now i have had panic attacks at work and am thinking.. Im not over reacting, apparently this is really freaking me out. I had to leave work yesterday (not making for good paychecks...) and am job hunting as we speak. (what if your manager reads this? wont you be fired? if anyone is really reading this... HEY VANN AND TIM, GO FUCK YOURSELVES YOU PERVERTED ASS HATS.)

Can I say Handsome Gentleman Friend has been absolutly amazing through all of this. Thank you handsome :3

OK! Onto the JOY!! It was my birthday on the 8th!! I turned 29 years old.. for realsies! not a fake! a true 85 baby. Anywho, Flea and Tess and Husband and Tess' man all came down and we had an awesome time! We met at Steve's, and fun fact, Tess hadnt eaten and was grumpy and late... But oh well. We awaited Flea and Ryans arrival. eventually we headed to Cafe Avalino's, one of my favorites (but the owners sold.. Pizza's still good but Im scared!) After Avalinos we all headed to Pacifica for Tacobell. For those who dont know, Pacifica is a little seaside town just past San Francisco, and the tacobell backs up to a gorgiose white sand beach. Therefore its heaven, correct?

Tess and Chris split, so Flea Ryan Handsome and I all headed to Rogue! As a Rogue member I have been promised a TShirt, and free pint for my bday. Of course they dont do that anymore.... but they do offer a LITER of beer in exchange... (I kinda wanted a tshirt :/) but the Chocolate Porter is AMAAAAAZING. We also had Marionberry Mead, some samplers, Potato Nacho's (crisscut fries covered in yummyness), a hummus platter and all kinds of yum. We also headed to gelato after with Flea and I kiiiiinda drunk. All in all a great time

Then on Saturday, my cousin Jeff came home from the airforce!! :D just for a short leave, but yaaaay! so to have family birthday and celebrate Jess we headed to the Nantucket, which i havnt been to in yeeeaaarrss... BTW the food is AWESOME.

Handsome, Amy, Jeff, Sue, Nan, and Janet!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Hello all! So it's been a crazy few weeks! First we finished SF beer week. In that honor we got to open up and taste out bourbon barrel porter. Omg. It's amazing!!!! Look at that beauty!!

Last weekend we went to the Toronado for the Barley Wine Festival. 50+ barley wines on tap. We met a sweet group of gals who shared some of their wine, and we shared ours.

We were going to head to Magnolia and check it out but it was paaaacked. Instead we headed to Berkeley to TRex BBQ! It was very good, not KC, but good

I then took handsome to the East Bay Vivarium! One of the best reptile specialty stores in the US

We then headed to the Bone Room, a curiosity shop

And Albany Aquarium, I love Goby's!!!

And we swung by Albany Tap room but they wanted $40 for 6 tastes... No thanks

Brew Weekend NorCal

So last weekend I was whisked away by a sweet, wonderful man to consume delightful beverages and frolic in the woods! Yea, my teeth are rotting to from that last statment to.This weekend was a good adventure weekend though. First we went  ate at Big Boys Burgers, it was AMAZING!! and it RAINED!I litterally havnt seem rain in months, and its my favorite. Then we were off to Hendy Woods, a beautiful little state park up near Boonville. All of my pictures are sadly on my camera still but i will post them soon. After wondering the woods in basically a privet escersion, we headed to Anderson Valley Brewery, home of Boont! And many other delightful beverages. we sampled some wonderful things (my favorite was the soured barley wine!) then took a tour and played with their brew dog, Luke.

After that We headed to the Hamberger Ranch, and as you can see from the delightful BBQ above its a BBQ joint. One we really enjoy and had on Steves Birthday last year :3 Next off to Santa Rosa for some Russian River Brewing!

It was packed so we headed out with some bottles and off to Lagunitas! They were also super busy but had a tour we decided to wait for. I understand busy bar tenders, but I HATE to be ignored. HATE IT. So I was a little grumpy.. but we eventually got our drinks, which were immensly better then the service! :3 Try the barrel aged stuff!

After a day of drinking and enjoying, we headed home to transfer our own bourbon barrel porter, and add the wood chips and bourbon.. (since we have to barrel!)

Then we cracked open some Russian River delight! The Pliney the Elder is supposed to be one of the best in the world, and I have to agree. All were delightfull! And we enjoyed with our Oregon Rogue cups.
