Work, School and Work

So we are moving into midterms, so I asked my lovely manager to lessen my hours, so I can study and work on projects. Of course he doubled my hours and I work 6 days out of 7. If this keeps up I may have to quit, which I dont want to but school is WAY more important. Schools going, as usual, my digital media teacher isnt a fan of my idea's, this seems to be the thing. but I usually pull it off. It started raining this week, and was beautiful!! I love the rain, even if I have to wonder through it between buildings. The garden is looking awesome for fall! Spider plants are going crazy this year, and Im glad, their one of my favorites

Went to the hardware and garden store with the Aunties, and of course fell in love with a christmas dino display! :D Afterwards I hung out with them, as it was my only day off, and got the CAR ALARM INSTALLED!! Yay!! So I had a deal with the alarm guy to do a mural in exchange for the alarm, but he ended up having someone else do the mural cheaper? So I am going to do some ads for him I guess. Weird clients. but the Darlene is safe!!

In honor of the rain, I made lentil soup! :) So yummy!!! I have been ,unching on it all week for lunches and dinner.

Proud of my Size

Once again its that time of week to celebrate our awesomeness!! Thanks to Rachel over at the Near Sighted owl, who gets us together to be proud of yourself no matter what size, or anything else!! Anywho, this week has been crazy busy and exspensive, but very good! Finally got an eye test done, and I need reading glasses. Surprise!! But first eye test since the mid ninety's so.. ya.. my eyes arnt as bad as I thought they might be. The one thing that irked me was the plastic sunglasses you get after they dialate your eyes. They havnt changed since I was ten or even earlier. WTF? They are uncomfortable, ugly, and pop off, we cant do better then this?? Oh well.

I started planting my winter plants, a little late, but its warm here. I have dinosaur kale, fababeans and Dwarf snow peas! :D Yay!! Also, painted my nails blue for the first time in a loooong time.

At work we had an evacuation after a transformer blew int he second floor electrical room. Blew all the second floor lights, shot sparks under the door and sounded the fire alarms. I guess on the 3rd floor it sounded like gunfire so customers were freaking out. I was in the break room and just took the stairs. The managers had to stay behind because people started looting, poor guys!! When we got back I was in the break room again (Had come to work early, not just a slacker ;) ) and a customer who had given me trouble on wed comes into the employee lounge and tries to use the manager phone. I called security and they removed him but it was just a weird day. But I made some CA$H!! lol!

Saturday Gentleman friend took me to an open studio of my old teacher Phil Hua (PHua!!) His studio is in an old navel building in an area called the Dog Patch, which is all abandoned industrial shipping buildings slowly getting a rebuild. Phil's work is pretty cool, printer ink on news print, so it fades over time revealing different images of nature. The neighborhood was so rad!! I want a studio!!

Mmmmm, free mimosa's!

Oh ya, my butt plant is flowering!! That thing s so weird, but I like it

Weekend Update

As promised, Im getting back to some of the epic weekend that happened! Sorry for the delay, its been nuts. So saturday, So good!! lol!! Gentleman Friend and I started out SUPER lazy, watching football and eating Jack in the Box. Finally we shuffled down to Half Moon Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches around, for the Pumpkin and Art Festival! It was really just a big craft show, which I LOVE, but not the most manly thing for the GF, who was amazing. We DID eat some yumm-o Pumpkin muffin, then picked up PUMPKIN FUDGE! Say what?? Yes, omg it was so good!! Also the crazy Jesus freaks were out (Im not bashing religion, but these guy were INSANE and give everyone a bad name) Also while in down there we stopped by a Rite-Aide (drug store) that once was a Thrifty's (drug store). As a kid my mom would take me and my sister down to our local Thrifty's for Ice Cream, and they use a square scooper. Weird but my childhood! And my Mom's childhood, Papa used to take her to her local Thrifty's for ice cream. Im a HUGE Rainbow sherbet fan :)

From there we headed down the road and stopped by a stand to try Salmon Jerky and Smoked Albicore! OMG. Im a huge convert to salmon jerky now. We basically inhaled it before the Devils Slide (Im like 10 miles!!) So delightful!! From there we went inland to Dixon (with more Jack in the Box on the way) to the Worlds Largest Corn Maze!! I havnt been able to go for a few years, but its once of my favorite things to do this time of year!! There was some damage to the maze from a) Idiot kids, and b) Windstorms. But we wondered around for over an hour, finding little paths to escape the screaming teens, making out in a corn cave and basically playing in a corn field at night.

After a long day of driving and Halloweening, GF asked if I could show him my favorite karaoke bay in the world, the amazing Hamburger Patties!! Of course sweet, amazing man! Epic Idea!  We met up with Lawyer Rachel, Akbar was running the karaoke, and it was amazing!! GF sang some Santana and wooed the ladies, I of course did my favorites, Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy, and I Play Chicken With the Train. Lawyer Rachel did Home Coming Queen's for a Gun (I love it!!) and some others. Also while we were there an adorable lesbian couple sang Baby Got Back, then one proposed!! SO CUTE!! After much fun, great food, great people we finally headed home to the bay.

Sorry for the exsessive use of !!! but it was so much amazingness I just can't handle it
